Before every home game, the Big Red Band parades around campus singing and playing Davy (Cornell's Fight Song) and generally being loud and raucous. Whenever we have an audience, there are several moves that we (the Mighty Mighty Clarinets) have to demonstrate our ability to spin and march simultaneously...for the most part. We also have a couple of chants that we do depending upon the drum cadence. In short, we just have a good time!
SpinsTurkey Turn: clarinet vertical, circle left in 4
Conan: clarinet horizontal, bend knees, circle left in 4 plus "ARRRGH"
Tootsie Twist: turkey turn while counting down from 4, then a backwards turkey turn
Ripple: 1st row counts down and does a turkey turn. 2nd row counts down as 1st row turns, then does their turn while 3rd row counts down, etc.
ChantsFor different cadences:
"Let's go boogie down" (although this is more of a band thing than a clarinet thing)
"Up and down and side to side and up and down...etc" while moving clarinet in the same motion
"George of the Jungle"
"One: We Are Cornell"
"Nuts in May"
