Keys that I use in trn

When looking at a list of things to choose from

These lists make up most of the trn interface, including:

Selecting items
A-Za-z0-9 Any key listed down the left margin is used to toggle an item between selected (+) and unselected. (There is also an intermediate state (*) which indicates that some strict subset of the items have been selected, for example by the "select followups to my own posts" feature.)
:-<ENTER> Deselect all
Navigating
<SPACE> pagedown
> pagedown
< pageup
^ to first page
$ to last page
^R redraw from top of list
^N check for new articles (only works at screen for selection of groups to read)
Z continues to child screen with currently selected items (as an alternative to getting to the bottom of the list and hitting <SPACE> one more time)
n go to next item (not very useful)
p go to previous item (not very useful)
<ENTER> read current item if no other items selected (only useful with n and p), or continue to child screen with currently selected items (like Z) but return to this point instead of bottom when done
q quit (from newsgroup selection screen), return to newsgroup selection (from article selection)

While reading a post

Reading an article
<SPACE> pagedown (or to next unread article if no more pages)
^ to first page
$ to last page
+ Return to article selection menu
q Return to group selection menu
^R redraw from top of list
^X rot-13 and jump to top of article
x rot-13 and jump to top of article (must be different from ^X but I don't know how)
X rot-13 but stay on current page
Posting and emailing
:post<ENTER> Start a new thread
^F forward via email
F followup in news (with quoted text)
f followup in news (without quoted text)
R reply via email (with quoted text)
r reply via email (without quoted text)
C cancel (only your own posts)
Z supersede with revised message (only your own posts)
n go to next unread article
p go to next unread article upwards (this is rarely useful)
- return to article read prior to current article
[0-9]+<ENTER> go to article by article number
m mark current article unread
