Pictures from my house
March, 2005

Each weekend that I can manage it, I go out and prune, train, garden, weed, and fertilize the lovely grounds around my house. It is the best kind of time: quiet, focused, clear goals, visible progress, physical labor, and best of all: the satisfaction of bringing order from chaos. Everyone should have a garden!

Here's my living room, with the door open to the front porch.
Some mysterious pink poufy flowers growing on one of my bushes. They're so cool that I wish I knew what they were called.
My calla lilies recently started to bloom. These blooms are huge, up to six inches wide.
This is some kind of mallow. The leaves look a bit like little oak leaves in shape, but they are soft and dark fuzzy green. The blossoms are surprisingly beautiful.
Looking southwest across the front yard, towards the pepper tree that provides privacy from passers-by.
One of the neat little treasures the previous owners left was a set of these green footlamps. The light shields are green stained glass, and they cast an enchanting light across the little pathway here. They had the lights out back where no one would see them, and I immediately wanted to move them here, in the front yard, where they'd be useful. This turned out to be a much bigger job than I thought, but now it's done!
