On September 20, 2004, I signed off on this house in Monrovia, California. It is a two-bedroom, one-bath house, built in 1922, sized at about 1200 square feet. The current owners went crazy with the plants, bushes, vines, and trees, and I am likely to have a lot of pruning and taming ahead of me. I can't wait to move in, in early November!

The view from the street. There is a pepper tree on the left and a flowering peach on the right. Approaching the front gate. Note cute picket fence, entirely overgrown (in less than 2 years!) with white roses and miscellaneous vines. That's a Japanese maple just inside the gate on the right. And yes, the mailbox has a cat head on top of it. Still outside the gate, just to the right. White roses in abundance.
Now we're inside the gate, looking west along the porch. One of those plants is a huge butterfly bush. Porch proper. The peeing boy will hopefully depart with the current owners. Looking east along the front of the house. The windows look into the office space off the master bedroom.
Another shot of the cat mailbox as well as the riotous vines engulfing it. Looking back at the road, from the front steps, at the pepper tree. The butterfly bush is to the right. Looking east from under the pepper tree to the Japanese maple and sundry other plants.
